I Heart Faces ~ Photo Challenge {Wind}

This week’s IHF photo challenge theme is “wind” and I just happened to have recently edited a 1st Birthday party that had a ton of windy pictures. The contest called for a wind related picture with a person in it. I had a hard time picking one because I had so many great pictures of the kids playing with the wind machine at this party! It would be so awesome to win!

Bring Back the Beach Bash, Chadwick Beach {Belmar, NJ}

I am a very proud resident of Chadwick Beach, NJ. Since Hurricane Sandy, many of the towns residents have come together to do some amazing things. “United to Rebuild” has become the slogan of Chadwick Beach late last year. All over town you can see people sporting the shirts,  sweatshirts, stickers and hats. I wonderful group of locals formed the “Chadwick Beach Restoration Fund” and have raised thousands and thousands of dollars by selling these items, as well as, throwing a very successful evening of dinner, music and auction prizes at the Waterview Pavillion in Belmar, NJ. The turnout was amazing and everyone had a great time. I was extremely thankful that I was able to be a part of it and give back in some small way. Many of us lost everything that day and were away from our homes without control for weeks with limited information. It was an extremely hard winter for our town and I am so glad that this weekend (Easter weekend) has brought sunshine, warmth and many people back down the shore to start again and rebuild their damaged properties. As sad as it has been over the last few months, moving back to a deserted town, today was a really beautiful day. I can’t wait to see everyone back in town and laughing again, like they were at the Beach Bash!

 

Lucas Newborn Session {Princeton, NJ}

Baby Lucas was born 10 days early and just after Valentines Day! I am so happy for my friends Anil and Ron for the new additon to their family. Mike and I had a great time playing with baby Lucas for the first time and having dinner with the new parents at their home. I can’t wait to play with Lucas on the beach, a place I am sure he will love as much as his parents .

Anil and Ron’s Maternity Session & Co-Ed Baby Shower {Princeton, NJ}

Anil and Ron have been good friends of mine for the last few years, since I met my fiancé, Mike. It has been so awesome seeing their relationship bloom from dating, to engaged, to married and now starting a family! I am so happy for them and can not wait to have another new model to take pictures of! Here are a few images from their maternity session and co-ed shower.

Michael Kew Book Signing & The Diamond Eyes {Glide Co. Surfshop, Normandy Beach, NJ}

Our friends Phil and Jess own a surf shop in Normandy Beach. They had a Michael Kew book signing at their store. They showed a movie in front of the store and had a band come and play afterwards during the book signing. It was a fun party!

Paul Mitchell Fashion Show 2012 ~ Album Preview

Here is an example of the possiblilities when making an album. Here, Jenny & I decided on a magazine style album. This is very cool and I can’t wait to get the actual order in the mail and present it to her!

M. Shawn Crahan ~ Book Signing ~ Bookends {Ridgewood}

M. Shawn Crahan, also known as “Clown”, is the percussionist of the band Slipknot. I had the opportunity of taking pictures of him at his first book of photography book signing. His pictures are very interesting and unique. Although, a little on the darkside, I was pleasantly surprised and had to purchase a copy. He was a very sweet and friendly man. I was very surprised when I spoke with him how nice he really was. I even asked him if he would mind me taking a few extra pictures of him and he kindly accepted.

Alexandra Christening {Freehold}

One of my boyfriends friends, Mike, is married and they just had a baby a few months ago. They live in CA, but came home for the baby’s Christening. The funny part is, the church was supposed to be the church that they got married in, but the church was under renovation at the time and they were not able to get married there. So this time, they are back and having the baby baptized at the spot that they wanted to wed in. Alex is a beautiful baby and she was very happy the day of the Christening.

Mike and his wife, Alison, were also celebrating 10 years of marriage, so Alison planning a surprise vow renewal ceremony for Mike in this church. Here are some of my favorite pictures form the day.

Melissa Rycroft ~ Book Signing ~ The Book Mart Shoppe {Brooklyn}

Melissa Rycroft is a reality television contestant and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Her book, My Reality, debuted in book stores the day of the book signing that I was able to attend. This was her first book signing as well. I was so thrilled to meet her in person. She is soo beautiful in person too, I could not believe someone in the reality tv world could be so friendly and well spoken. Everyone had a chance to ask her questions about her time on The Bachelor, Dancing With The Stars, her previous engagement to Jason Mesnick, and her experiences on her CMT reality show Melissa & Tye.

She was also a great person to work with. Herself and her publicist catered to all of my requests and I even walked Melissa to her limo with her publicist as we were taking camera phone pictures. What a lovely lady!

40th Anniversary Party ~ The Westwood {Garwood}

Heather contacted me a few weeks before a surprise party that she was planning with her sister for their parents 40th wedding anniversary. The party was held at The Westwood in Garwood, NJ. We sat in silence waiting for the footsteps to come close to the door. Everyone was so excited and hoped to keep the surprise a secret. On top of a surprise party, the ladies also put together a surprise vow renewal service for their parents to renew their wedding vows! So not only was this couple going to be surprised with a party, but they were going to come in, be shocked, and then renew their vows all at once! It was sooo fun to be a part of. This family is full of love, laugher, and good dancing skills Everyone had a great time, you could tell because almost every attendant was on the dance floor!
